An exciting opportunity to join Optical Support Ltd, the UK’s leading specialists in camera stabilisation equipment in the Film and Television Industry.

We have been specialising in camera stabilisation, engineering and lens servicing since 1996 and have progressed into the sales and manufacture of our own products.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join us in the design and manufacture process for the development of existing and new products.
You will need to be experienced and fluent in SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD and able to work quickly and accurately producing designs and drawings for manufacture.

Your responsibilities within our team will be the whole process from the idea, design and manufacturing to the final product. Liaising with suppliers during manufacture and building new relationships with potential new suppliers are an important part of the role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate drawings to the design objective.


• Work to a prioritised schedule to maximise the design to manufacture process.


• Monitor and progress manufacturing projects.


• Support the Sales and Rental Team with customer requests for products including one off designs.


• To assist departments in creating marketing material for exhibitions and the website.

Experience and Skills

• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD.


• Experience in the manufacturing process of products and finishes.


• Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.


• An ability to create designs from basic sketches and to work with the actual products with the view to work with, modify, improve or replace the existing design.


• A full understanding of the practicality of a design and the cost implications when manufactured.


• Experience of working with CNC designed products in aluminium, stainless and other hard metals and plastics.
