Sketch Tip: Speedy dimensions

SOLIDWORKS 2013 has a new option to allow intelligent dimensioning of sketches automatically. It basically allows you to sketch as normal, but if you know the size of the sketch entity you are adding, you can type in what size it should be. If you don't know, simply do not enter a value.

The option of adding dimension whilst sketching has been around for a few releases now, so if you are not on the latest version (2013) then you can still use the option, but you will need to control manually when a dimension is not added. To not add the dimension, simply press ALT on the keyboard and you will get the same sort of functionality. Check out the video to see exactly how it works...
